Q: Does your company have a legal right to come in my yard and begin digging without warning?
A: As upsetting as it can be to see your yard being disrupted, yes we do have a legal right. Nearly every yard has a utility easement which permits access for repairs and upgrades for utilities, such as phone, cable, internet, water, sewer, gas, and electric. In most cases, Heartland Midwest will notify you three to five days before digging begins, however, an unexpected or emergency situation may prevent advance warning.
